PCM lines

PCM (Prepreg Compression Molding) is an advanced composite manufacturing process that uses pre-impregnated fiber reinforcements (prepregs) containing a precisely controlled amount of resin. The prepreg material is cut, stacked, and placed into a heated compression mold, where pressure and temperature are applied to form the final component. PCM enables the production of lightweight, high-performance parts with excellent mechanical properties, dimensional accuracy, and surface quality. The process is particularly suited for applications requiring high strength-to-weight ratios, such as aerospace and automotive, while offering shorter cycle times and greater production efficiency compared to traditional prepreg molding methods.

Our turnkey plants for prepreg compression molding

PCM plants require molds, preformers, presses, and automation. To address the challenge of preforming pre-preg materials, we developed the Triple Vacuum Frame (TVF), a patented solution designed to enhance the efficiency and precision of the preforming process.

Our molding cell features state-of-the-art presses, equipped with the finest active parallelism control, addressing even the most demanding compression molding challenges. Also, we provide a wide range of press designs carefully tailored to accommodate factory constraints and fully customizable to meet any client’s specific requirements.
