In flexible and rigid foams, adding solid fillers endows the final product with particular characteristics.
They can be blended with polyol into the batch or directly into the mixing head, and the chosen method depends on the filler’s properties. Some fillers require batch blending which uses a premixing system to mix the polyol and filler before transferring them to the machine’s tank.
Other solid fillers can be blended and injected into the mixing head, and some others, like expandable graphite, require specific equipment to be effectively processed.
