Polyurethane Surface Coating

Our polyurethane surface coating technology offers a cutting-edge alternative to traditional manual or automated painting processes. Designed to deliver exceptional efficiency and sustainability, this technology applies to a variety of materials and industries, providing unmatched benefits in productivity and environmental impact. For example, using polyurethane surface RIM coating to replace traditional painting for car body parts reduces CO₂ emissions by 60%, and VOC emissions by 99%.

Simultaneous thermoplastic part production and coating

In partnership with

With integrated setups, the polyurethane dosing unit interfaces directly with the injection molding machine for optimized cycle times and productivity. For automotive assembly, external car parts emerge fully finished from the injection machine, eliminating the need for additional handling, such as disassembly and reassembly, required in traditional painting methods.

In partnership with ENGEL, the simultaneous part production and coating technology achieves unparalleled efficiency and precision. ENGEL’s clearmelt technology allows the part to be “painted” directly within the mold.

The thermoplastic carrier is produced through the injection molding process, and then it is flooded with PUR/PUA, eliminating the need for subsequent painting and polishing. Cannon’s advanced A-Compact HT polyurethane dosing unit, ChromaFeed color dosing unit, and LN /3 mixing head integrate seamlessly with the injection molding machines, delivering exceptional quality and productivity in the simultaneous coating of automotive components.

Sequential thermoplastic component production and coating

Alternatively, thermoplastic parts can be prepared separately and then inserted within dedicated molds for coating, where the metering unit injects the correct amount of polyurethane coating.

While resulting in significantly longer cycles than the simultaneous process, sequential production still allows precise and high-quality finishes.

PUR surface coating on wood parts

Polyurethane coating technology is applicable to wooden parts, such as decorative veneers for automotive interiors and furniture, as a replacement for manual spray painting. Always transparent, it provides a high-gloss, protective finish ideal for interior applications. This process significantly:

  • reduces processing time
  • enhances repeatability
  • ensures consistent quality for large production volumes

We provide comprehensive solutions, including polyurethane dosing units, mixing heads, presses, and molds tailored to this application.
