Blowing agents
Chemical blowing agents are substances that contribute to the cellular structure of polyurethane foams, affecting the physical properties, the density, in particular.

Depending on the blowing agent, you can curate the characteristics of your final product: increasing strength, flexibility, and/or thermal resistance, reducing its overall weight, or endowing your part with other desirable traits.
We work in close partnership with customers and raw material suppliers and have always been at the forefront of these additives.
Customers often take advantage of our in-house lab for testing new materials because our patented technologies cover the full range of mixing and metering for blowing agents, such as:
Pentane is increasingly used in polyurethane formulations due to its low cost compared to HFOs and ability to deliver excellent thermal resistance, making it an excellent choice for PIR and PUR foams.
However, these flammable blowing agents need special handling and storage, including a dedicated safety system with ventilation equipment, gas sensors and safety control cabinets.
Contact us today to discuss your specific needs and find out how our custom solutions can enhance your production process. Don’t wait — let’s create excellence together!
