Injectors

One of the most important parts of a high-pressure mixing head, injectors transform the pressure of components metered by the pumps into kinetic energy. This energy is used to generate the turbulent motion needed to blend the mixture. The type of injector (orifice, fixed, or spring-loaded) that best fits your mixing head is highly dependent on your final product, chemicals and process parameters, and we will help you choose the perfect solution.

NoWave

Our latest creation. The NoWave’s cup springs dampen pressure oscillations and maintain the selected pressure by acting on the needle, reacting automatically to changes in flow rates passing through the nozzle.

This enables the consistent pressure required for high-quality injection, despite flow rate changes.

Learn more about our other injectors, arranged from simplest to more complex, below.

Orifice
This is the simplest injector, made only of a calibrated nozzle. There is no needle, meaning they cannot be set and that the dimension must be carefully chosen based on the flow rate. Orifice injectors are repetitive and recommended only when the flow rate is constant and/or particularly low.

Pre-settable injectors
Similar to the orifice-style injector, but with a needle. The needle’s position is adjusted manually by a screw: at a given flow rate, the more the screw is turned, the higher the component’s pressure will be.

Spring loaded injector “L’Orange”
With this type of injector, adjusting the screw preloads the spring, which reacts to flow variations by moving the needle back and forth to keep the pressure inside certain values. Low-viscosity components may leak through exit the screw thread, for which this injector is equipped with a drainage duct.

Leak-free injectors
Leak-free injectors were designed to avoid the leakage present in spring-loaded injectors. Thanks to the design, they do not need a drainage duct and perform better in terms of maintaining constant pressure.

ReCo injectors
An acronym for REmote-COntrolled, these spring-loaded injectors have a hydraulic or pneumatic actuator, which automatically loads the spring to the value set by the operator in each shot’s recipe. This keeps the pressure constant, preventing flow rate changes.
