Born from the exigencies facing the wind energy market, this innovative and fully automatic system for in-line vacuum degassing of resins offers consistently high outputs and significantly reduced processing times.
Benefitting from diverse experiences
As the wind power sector moves towards larger and larger wind blades to generate more power, there is demand for greater outputs without compromising performances and costs. This technology builds on our vast experience in the oil & gas sector — particularly for water treatment on offshore platforms — adapting and customizing it for resin degassing.
The next step in degassing technology
Degassing technologies are, at present, mainly operated off-line in batches with low throughput and long processing times. Some existing technologies are already aimed at in-line processes, but tend to have limited output; in an attempt to bypass this, some suppliers offer more than one unit to cover the higher volumes.
What sets our solution apart is the drastically reduced overall degassing time. It processes a one cubic meter (1m3) intermediate bulk container (IBC) in under 10 minutes, greatly enhancing efficiency and ensuring an optimized footprint, even at high output rates. One of our degassing units can replace several existing modules, allowing clients a fully integrated production process that saves time, costs, and space.
Looking beyond wind power applications
This new in-line degassing technology is not only well suited to producing large wind turbine blades. It works with other production processes where air or gas bubbles in the chemical blend need to be minimized to improve final product’s integrity, such as structural parts for the automotive industry, aerospace applications or battery trays.
