This long, challenging project was a great success thanks to Nippon Cannon, our local unit in Japan.

We supported Toyota Boshoku in realizing best quality multi-hardness and multi-density seats and backs
Toyota Boshoku (TBJ), the Japan-based automotive component producer and member of the Toyota Group, specializes in developing and manufacturing automotive interior products, including seats.
Since 2005, we have provided TBJ with AX mixing heads to produce seats and backs. For this reason, when we started started developing a 6 radial + 1 axial component model of the AX (a natural evolution of the previous 4 radial + 1 axial component configuration), we immediately let TBJ know.
Cannon Afros and Nippon Cannon (our branch in Japan) reviewed and checked all the head’s components, receiving great support and feedback from TBJ.
When the first AX22 6+1 mixing head were delivered, TBJ, Cannon Afros and Nippon Cannon worked together and gained significant technical data through performance tests run at TBJ’s lab. The main advantages shown by this head were:
- high performance mixing
- excellent laminar flow rate
- short cycle times
- simple installation and maintenance
These performances and advantages set a new standard reference for this type of mixing head, allowed the development of numerous different sizes, all commercially available today and performing very well.
Afterwards, TBJ commissioned us to replace of the AX24 head, widely used and appreciated by the company, with the new AX22 at the Sanage plant, which then led to several further contracts with Toyota Boshoku around the world.
The AX22 can achieve 2 million successful shots before any preventative maintenance and offers Quality Indexes far superior to the severe limits imposed by the client.
For the “high productivity, high flexibility, high quality and high stability of the new AX22 mixing head,” which brought Toyota Boshoku “huge advantage and benefit,” Nippon Cannon was awarded with Toyota Boshoku’s “Technology & Development Award.”
